Two people have been placed in preventive detention in Cuenca following their alleged involvement in the murder of a man earlier this month.
Authorities identified the suspects as Andrea Lorena Ll. and Rafael Marcos L., who were arrested on April 4 in the Los Trigales area, in the northern part of the city. Prosecutors accuse them of acting as co-perpetrators in the killing of José Carlos G., who was shot multiple times while driving along Avenida de las Américas near González Suárez on April 2.
According to police, the two detainees are believed to have assisted in the escape of the gunmen responsible for the attack.
As part of the investigation, officers carried out a raid on a property in the Ricaurte Parish area, where they discovered a cache of weapons and other materials potentially linked to the crime.
Items seized included two rifles, five magazines, two pistols, six grenades, approximately 60 rounds of ammunition, and a white pickup truck believed to have been used during the incident.
The case remains under investigation as authorities continue efforts to identify and locate others who may have been involved in the attack.
