Two minors were detained Monday night, April 21, 2026, following a robbery in Sayausí.
The incident unfolded around 7:00 p.m. at the Y of Sayausí, near the entrance to a forest, where two young girls, ages 16 and 11, were approached and threatened. Their Infinix Smart 9 cell phone was taken before the suspects fled toward San Joaquín.
Around 9:00 p.m., officers patrolling the area were alerted by the victims’ mother. Based on the description provided and sightings reported by nearby residents, police traced the suspects to a home in the Cinco Esquinas sector.
Inside the house, officers located two individuals identified as Jordaho A., 16 years old, and Andrés B., 15 years old. During the search, the stolen phone was found hidden under a sofa in the living room, establishing a direct link to the robbery.
Both minors were taken into custody and placed in isolation as part of the procedure.
Because the case involves minors, the National Directorate of Specialized Police for Children and Adolescents (Dinapen) was called in and assumed responsibility for the next steps.
