Mall del Río will host a new edition of the Cuenca Food Fest on April 4 and 5, as part of activities leading up to the city’s Foundation Day celebrations.
The event will take place at the mall’s convention center from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on both days, with free admission for the public.
Organizers say the festival is designed to bring together a wide range of local, national, and international cuisine in one location, offering visitors a mix of food, entertainment, and cultural activities. The event is expected to attract families, tourists, and residents during one of the busiest holiday periods of the year.
The gastronomic offering will include traditional Ecuadorian dishes, international cuisine, grilled and smoked foods, gourmet fast food, desserts, and a variety of beverages. In addition to food stands, the program will feature guest grillers, live music, and family-oriented activities.
Officials say the festival aims to support local entrepreneurs and strengthen Cuenca’s position as a growing culinary destination. Events like this are also seen as a way to boost tourism and increase spending in the local economy during peak travel periods.
The Cuenca Food Fest is being promoted as more than a food fair, with organizers emphasizing its role as a full cultural and social experience. The event will also include designated spaces for social media content creation, reflecting its appeal to younger audiences and digital creators.
With high visitor turnout expected, the festival is positioned as one of the main attractions of the holiday weekend, combining gastronomy, entertainment, and community engagement in a central location.
