Several people were robbed at gunpoint on the night of April 30 in northern Cuenca, in an incident that unfolded outside a minimarket along the road to Sinincay.
The robbery was reported around 9:00 p.m., when two armed men approached a group of customers gathered outside the store. The suspects, one dressed in black and the other wearing a green sweater and jeans, both had motorcycle helmets on and used intimidation to force the victims to hand over their belongings.
During the robbery, the assailants took three high-end cell phones, cash, and personal documents, including a vehicle registration.
After the attack, the suspects fled the scene on a red motorcycle. Police launched a pursuit that continued toward the Miraflores cemetery, but the suspects managed to escape.
Security cameras at the location captured the incident, and the footage is now being reviewed as part of the investigation to identify those responsible.
