Police in Cuenca arrested a 29-year-old man after reportedly catching him in the act of stealing appliances from a home and removing them through the roof.
The incident happened near Urapan and Paseo 3 de Noviembre streets, according to authorities.
Police said officers responded quickly after receiving reports of a possible robbery in progress. When they arrived, they allegedly found the suspect taking household items out through the roof of the property.
The man was identified as Luis F.
Authorities said the appliances had already been removed from inside the home before officers intervened and detained him at the scene.
The suspect was placed in the custody of the appropriate authorities while the case proceeds through the legal process.
