A partial closure of the Cuenca–Azogues highway is scheduled to begin Tuesday, May 5, near Mall del Río, as crews carry out drainage improvements in the area.
The work is aimed at reducing water buildup on the roadway, a recurring issue during periods of heavy rain. Officials plan to improve the capacity of drainage systems along this stretch of the highway.
The closure will run from 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday through 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 9.
Details of the closure include:
- Affected area near Felipe II Street, under the pedestrian bridge
- Approximately 200 meters of roadway impacted
- Inner lanes closed in both directions
Traffic control will be managed by local mobility authorities during the project.
Drivers are advised to proceed with caution and follow posted signage while the work is underway.
