A criminal court has sentenced Christian David A. to 21 years and four months in prison for extortionate kidnapping in Totoracocha. The ruling also orders him to pay $1,000 in compensation to the victim.

The case dates back to August 3, 2025, when the coordinator of an addiction rehabilitation center was abducted during a soccer tournament at El Oriente Park. The victim was forced into a vehicle by several individuals despite attempts by relatives and others to intervene.

The victim was taken to a remote area, where the captors demanded $2,000 for release. During captivity, the victim was physically assaulted before being abandoned. Afterward, the victim managed to seek help and received medical attention, with injuries requiring a 90-day recovery period.

Investigators later located the vehicle used in the crime in the Balzay sector, leading to the arrest of Christian David A. The victim identified him as the driver and one of the attackers.

Another suspect, known as “Chino,” remains at large and is believed to have had prior contact with the victim and made earlier demands for money.

During the trial, evidence included audio and video material, forensic reports, and medical documentation supporting the conviction.
