Two men were found injured after being forced into a vehicle and assaulted in Cuenca, in an incident reported on April 23, 2026.
Police responded around midday to an alert about two individuals discovered along the Medio Ejido–Sayausí road. At the scene, officers found Hamilton GB, 28, and José RC, both showing visible injuries.
The men said they had been near the Feria Libre the previous day, where they consumed alcohol and marijuana. According to their account, unknown individuals later forced them into a black private vehicle.
They reported being beaten with a bat before being abandoned along the Cuenca–Molleturo–El Empalme road.
Emergency responders provided initial care at the scene before transporting both men to Vicente Corral Moscoso Hospital. They were treated for bruises on various parts of their bodies.
