Dump trucks were stopped Tuesday, April 21, 2026, in Migüir, near the entrance to the Río Blanco community along the Cuenca – Molleturo – El Empalme road.
Images shared by local residents show several heavy vehicles, painted red and yellow, positioned in the area. Military personnel can also be seen nearby.
There has been no official clarification about what the trucks were carrying or why they were halted.
Residents who flagged the situation say the vehicles were entering the area to transport gold-bearing material extracted in the Río Blanco sector.
The area has been the focus of ongoing tension tied to the alleged presence of illegal mining.
