Cuenca marked the 469th anniversary of the founding of Santa Ana de los Ríos de Cuenca with a formal session recognizing individuals, organizations, and projects for their contributions to the city.
- Santa Ana de los Ríos de Cuenca Badge awarded to Ángel Gerardo Ortiz Cornejo and José Patricio Ortiz Cornejo
- Viceroy Hurtado de Mendoza Insignia presented to the Investment and Training Group “Organizational Support for Development ACORDES of the University of Cuenca”
- Brother Miguel Badge awarded to Cristian Pineda Guzmán
- Guadalupe Larriva González Badge awarded to Paola Guzmán Salinas
- Abelardo J. Andrade Award presented to the GAD parish of Baños
- Sports Merit Badge awarded to Diana del Rocío Santana Pesántez
- Dolores J. Torres Badge presented to Dalia Edith Patiño Sánchez
The ceremony also recognized achievements in architecture and urban development through the Gil Ramírez Dávalos Award. In the category of construction between party walls, economic type, the award went to CONSTRUCTORA J&PLEON SAS for a project located in Río Amarillo, designed and built by Micaela Fabiana León Cabrera. Other categories were left vacant due to a lack of entries.
In the Fray José María Vargas Award, rehabilitation category, Angélica Isabel Abad Cisneros was recognized for a project at Luis Cordero 11-59 and Gaspar Sangurima, designed and built by architect Franklin Roberto Abad Abril. An honorable mention went to Andrés Ricardo Zambrano Jiménez for a project at Mariscal Lamar 21-51 and Luis Pauta, designed and built by architects Pamela Cedillo Maldonado and Fernando Vélez Illescas.
In the new construction category, Inmobiliaria San Fermín SAS received recognition for a project at Bajada de Todos Santos 4-71, built by engineers Santiago Arízaga and Paúl Arízaga. As with other sections, several categories were declared void due to no applications.
Additional recognitions were also presented to Rubén Eduardo Mosquera Crespo, as well as posthumous honors for Julio Flores and René Toral Calle.
The annual ceremony highlighted contributions across civic, cultural, educational, and community sectors, reflecting the city’s continued emphasis on public service and development.
